We were presented with another house property belonging to a pâtissier and interior designer in Kuala Lumpur. The existing property, a charmless two-storey, recently renovated terrace house located in a hilly, 80s terrace housing development was badly planned out, cheaply finished, dark and damp due to poor construction.We began with gutting out the entire house from within, leaving only a few essential columns and beams onto which the new layout and design to suit the lifestyle of the two lively couple excited to embark on a collaborative design journey with the studio.....

Studio Bikin was founded between partners Farah Azizan and Adela
Askandar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2012. The design-led studio
practice is established to enable both partners and their team to design
and execute projects with a broad range of typologies, from of office
interiors to private dwellings in various settings, from the urban to
rural context.
