A new residence of over 400sqm in Caulfield. The use of black zinc and charcoal block externally contrasts with and conceals a surprising interior flooded with natural light. A series of north facing living volumes, ranging in scale from expansive to intimate, are arranged beside, behind and over a central courtyard.
The house is planned to be zoned into the downstairs area for the residing couple and the upstairs for their grandchildren. The central courtyard and a void running the length of the house connect these zones and allow natural light to be captured absorbed and bounced throughout the house.....more
