This bach on Great Barrier Island has a clarity of vision combined with a profound humility. A tower and a pavilion are sheathed in weathered timber planks that offer protection from the elements, but can be slid back to allow an engagement with the environment. Interior and exterior distinctions are blurred and at night it radiates like a Japanese lantern.
