A renovation to an inner city Queenslander provided an opportunity enhance the character of the old, and provide architectural elements to move the house into the 21st century. The existing upper level is dedicated sleeping, sitting, and bathing. Under the existing house, a new living space flows into the garden, reinstating a relationship to the garden. The new steel structure is used as a datum, defining the old above and new below. The old floor structure is expressed as a reminder of days spent playing under Queenslanders..........
