House and studio,Potsdam,Berlin By Augustin und Frank Architekten

The site is located on the outskirts of Berlin in Potsdam. It is about 23m wide and over 90m deep and passed with a group of adult pines. A two-storey house and a one-story studio are the buildings.
The existing group of trees with its strong geographic presence gives the ensemble center, eye catching and atmospheric character. Trees down to the narrow focus of glazed sides of both houses with living rooms and large-sized sliding doors, each leading to a over the entire width of the house presented terrace.

The material used for construction and expansion was favored in the house of wood. The exterior walls are simple wooden structures with storey-high elements on the substantially open south and east.
The studio is raised on stilts with a bottom plate of the natural history of the forest floor. The lack of grip also gives the closed Cuba tour of the studio floating lightness and denied by the house from the view of the roof area.
The position of the two small houses on the property creates new, depending on location and use of sophisticated garden spaces that support the dominance of the existing vegetation and draw the eye into the distance.....more
