This beautiful multigenerational family compound uses cutting edge and traditional green strategies to keep energy use low. It consists of two houses connected by a south facing glass walkway. The walkway serves as a collector of solar energy, which heats the houses in the wintertime. There is also a geo thermal system, which uses groundwater to heat and cool the building.
