House Renovation | Modern Terrace | Whistler Street | Coffey Architects



A three bed roomed, terraced property renovation, a terrace transformed. These properties are normally characterised by their low ceiling heights, dark centre and isolation from the rear garden. In this project the living spaces merge into one through the use of materials, heights and thicknesses. A large open plan space accommodates many functions separated by furniture and walls. A sunken living space facing west enjoys the evening sun and captures solar gain to heat the house. A mix of modern and traditional materials creates a gravitas and delicacy to the internal spaces including in-situ concrete, stripped brickwork and glass and oak stairs.
