House Extension | Harderwijk Netherlands Designed By Maasland Architecten

Two neighbors of the properties on the Rietgors Mheen in Harderwijk wanted an extension to the rear of their houses. At the rear of these houses you can look through a public garden and lawn on of the Wolderwijd.

Both expansions are separated by a brick wall.
To the rear of the expansion will get enough daylight from the roof via a skylight. This carefully detailed assembly pulls the roof down toward the water.

To prevent the houses from being too warm from the sunlight heat, large roof overhangs is used. In the summer the sun is high and the overhang makes sure the sun is not shining directly. In winter the sun is low and it shines under the overhang.......more
