Low Energy Family House | Steinfort | Luxembourg | Metaform
The monolithic aspect of this house finds its meaning in this flat land. This house seems to be "planted". The existence of a dense hedgerow at the bottom of the plot and the topography of the latter, led us to direct the "block" perpendicular to the street. This principle of plantation protects the overexposed garden from the gaze of others and gives it a more intimate character. Also, each ground-floor room has direct access to the garden.............more

Brazillian Modern House Design | Casa BF | Brazil | Humberto Hermeto
The premise of the project was to have a house as a platform with all the spaces in a single level (which should be as high as possible to take advantage of existing views). The owners had already purchased a lot, and off comes the complicated topography of the proposal.
With an average incline of 68% in the front of the property (more specifically in its first 10 meters), the ground presents the first obstacle to overcome: land works. A first simulation had a ramp going up but the cost of displacing dirt was so high that the idea was not feasible (the cost of moving earth and building foundations for the ramp exceeded the price paid for the property). In addition, this ramp would use more than 60% of the area, which made impossible the implementation of a project according to customer requirements.........more

House Renovation And Transformation | Les Heures Claires | Belgium | Atelier d'Architecture Bruno Erpicum
The work involves renovating and transforming a house in the suburbs into a contemporary residential building. The owner wanted everything to have a fresh perspective, to be rethought and reworked: The architect took charge of the building and worked on it as if it were a sculpture which needs to be controlled from both the inside and the outside until a full appreciation is gained for the relationship the occupants have with the building in question. The architect will work on the house relentlessly, applying his formula of preference: “the right proportions shall have precedence over any form of decoration”. Since, two white walls have appeared on the avenue in the suburbs and two young trees can be seen in front of these walls which will grow and bear witness to the seasons of the year. As you enter the building, and before the family has a chance to extend its hospitality to you, a vast surface of water will arouse your senses.......more

Single Storey Austrian Modern House Design | House H | Syntax Architektur
The single storey house is built perpendicular of the old country inn.
Privacy and visual relationships are the key design factors. The low height of the building leads to a streamlined structure that consists of two surfaces: the white-plastered walls with transparent openings and clad with copper sheet metal roof. The main design element is the roof that grows out of the undulating terrain. On the side facing the slope, the shaft is carried down to the ground, so a private terrace with built-in green space is created. The reduction of the surface leads to an abstract, yet integrated into the landscape building volume.........more

Modern Home | Casa El Secreto | Zapopan Jal Mexico | divece
The architectural program stems from the need to build a tree house and yard, the main actor that links the elements of the program and becomes the source of illumination for living together with their inhabitants. The architectural concept is to make a home where space is shared and overlapping, fragmented and fused into one. Is an architecture of open space exchange character and end up forming a continuous space, interlace to string together a sequence of events that always go beyond their limits and are arranged focally in the central courtyard. The courtyard fills with his presence the interior spaces, but also becomes the visual bridge to the gardens and courtyards, takes advantage of his privileged position to remind the inhabitants of its proximity to the outside. The titration is dynamic and fragmented, it emphasizes the horizontal to the vertical for versatility in the composition of the spans and levels of transparency. The white walls light condition clarifies the volumes, framing material changes, textures, colors and are transformed on stage planned in the vegetation reinforces the close relationship between interior and exterior.......more

Beach House Design | Los Molles House | Cachagua | V Region | Chile | dRN
The irony of not having direct view of the ocean on a seaside house appears as a possibility for orienting this beach house towards a more unexpected landscape. The open horizon of the Pacific has been replaced by the view the near hillsides to the west, and to the protected space defined by a group of preexisting trees. This independent backyard, isolated from the intense summer life of the beach town of Cachagua, offers a calmed retreat to take distance from the city. Here, the close relation to topography stimulates spontaneous exterior circulations between rooms, giving the same relevance to the interior life of the house as to the exterior events, trying to enhance the informal condition of the beach house and the possibility of a life “outdoors”......more

Tub or Garriga House located in the urbanization of Mirasol, in Sant Cugat del Vallès, is built on a farm surrounded by other buildings. Oriented north to south, narrow, small and large, has a half-floor slope that divides the property in two parts. The regulation and measurement of solar forcing us to stand in the center of the plot in two halves in the inner part, the higher we place the pool and garden shared with a neighbor. On the outside and lower, is the entrance of the house. The project aims to bring the two parties The Tub House is open in one direction and closed in the other. The program is reattached and a continuous skin overlying making wall and ceiling. The foot appears to clarify the relationships between the program and location. The stays extend from one side to another and the housing is oriented from north to south, so the light can run inside a garden to another. A relationship means that the garden plants can run north under the housing forming a porch. Cross, these relationships we join the two parts of the house in one vacuum. The front-cover is lined with a smooth surface, gressite to light skating and tube tops are sealed with cement, a material texture-do that gives us depth pillars and floors are covered with a continuous-deck facade, which on one side, rests on a gravel pit filled with water works as a catcher, the other is suspended from the porch light turning the skin a light power inside, and we relate to the garden next door in the abroad........more

Modern Japanese Tenement House Design | Static place | Ikimono Architects
It is the tenement house where 8 households live in.
There are a lot of losses to this building like a stone pit. It is it with the way of living to go back and forth in the average if the outside is out of it as for the ratio widely than the room of the floor space that I included to the roof terrace. The innumerable outside space possesses a power supply and water service in the exclusive possession space of each dwelling unit. But there is not the clear function as the room. By the device of the house hand, a parking lot, an atelier, a garden, dining, the gallery becomes the favorite space.
I want to think about relations with environment surrounding a person with a building and the person through a building. here, I regard the neighbor who lives in the same place as nature and a city and a similar environmental part, Because there is a neighbor, I thought about an amusement and discovery........more
Australian House Design | House At Coogee | MaSQ Architecture
The form of the house is derived from the limitations of its context. Neighbour views of Wedding Cake Island and the southeast needed to be maintained. The walls angle and tilt in plan and elevation in order to allow this to occur.
The house opens to the east and north which is its greatest aspect with the living room on the upper level to take advantage of the cooling breezes and views. The entry is slightly raised above the bedrooms and is intermediate to the living level. Views are slotted, contained or expanded depending on orientation and aspect.
The house is solid and robust to resist the battering of the elements. It can be dark, light, cool, or warm, responding to season and needs, providing its inhabitants the greatest amenity from which to contemplate nature..........more
